i think we're all a little bit frustrated over the new VOIP system and the radio... gonna go out on a limb here and make the assumption that neither are working correctly, or even up to their full capabilities. there were points yesterday evening where people needed to step away every five minutes to reset VOIP, which is not only extremely blood boiling but immersion ruining.. it also doesn't necessarily fix the issue when it's reset. it's effectively rendering people unable to role play because they're unable to speak to each other.

the same thing goes for radio communications.. it works sometimes, while other times it doesn't. some people hear everything, some hear half, and some don't hear anything at all.

regardless, neither are issues we've had in the past.. at least not on a city-wide scale.

are there any alternatives to the current VOIP and radio system? perhaps something we've used previously that proven to work?

VoIP and radio working really great from what I've seen. Not sure what you mean by "city-wide" when it's localized.

If there are any issues that can be reproduced on my end then they'll be fixed.

To be very honest, I didn't have issues with Tenga VOIP. And I currently am not experiencing any issues with Mumble (or the new system that James put into place).

Usually, if there were issues with either Tenga OR Mumble (even before Tenga was made) from my own experience it is because there are a lot of people within the area. A good example is whenever there is a Court Case and then the Vanilla Unicorn has an event, that is the only time and there are a bunch of people in the general area/vicinity which started to cause issues with VOIP. This has been an ongoing example/frustration as a whole.

I honestly believe that the same premise is currently happening (it happened once so far to me but it fixed itself). There's a lot of people within the general local area, and either Mumble/FiveM/whatever is not used to such a thing.

"But, Kiwi this does not happen on <x> server."

Every server is different, every dev is different in how they code. When James can locate the problem, or when people can provide a detailed report on things it will be fixed/resolved.

a lot of what i am eluding to is exactly like Kiwi stated.. from my experience, any 'gathering' has people running away to reset voip or relog entirely. and it doesn't necessarily JUST occur in a group setting, people have had the issue when there's 2 or 3 people standing and trying to have a conversation. it's extremely frustrating, often leading to having to just hop in a discord channel... for example, yesterday at Athena and Ricky's wedding.

the same issue happens with radio/phone communications.. and as stated in other posts, it tends to happen more often when a lot of people are on one specific channel or having a high server pop.

growing pains, sure.. and i'm perfectly confident our devs will be able to sort it out once they can find the root of the problem.

Voip cut out massively during court, during conversions at mrpd, at the lssd ceremony and via radio. We had to swap to discord for a briefing because no one could hear anything.

Resetting or debugging does absolutely nothing

I had nothing but issues with the tenga voip. Litterally daily stuttering and people talking 10+ seconds delayed.

Mumble works perfect for me, havent had any issues personally

i have not had an issue at all with the mumble VOIP last night at an event i went to everyone had to runaway and i still heard everyone to me i have reason to believe its User Bound some people may need to change there settings from the Tenga to the Mumble its as simple as maybe a outdated audio driver im not a Wizz when it comes to PC software but i know if im having issues and 10+ people are not its most likely on my end people need to take into effect that there internet speeds/connections also play a factor in all this

For me it barely works and as an LEO most of my job is radio coms, and I don't hear 70% of them, just the radio clicks sometimes but nothing coming through. I've tried every single solution that's been posted, every command via Voip:reset, voip:debug, cycling audio input and output, switch stations, turn radio on and off, etc and it's no use sadly. I know I am not alone on this either, I see most of my LEO colleagues that are discouraged due to it messing up and putting people off from being on duty.

VOIP has been massively cutting out and it seems to be mostly when groups of people get together. For example, it's practically impossible to hold court now and the last two events we had at the strip club were ALL text RP because no one could hear anyone or the music.

I to this day do not understand why we this community hasn't switched to Teamspeak. Yes it adds another step but the audio is so good and it doesn't cause lag. 1000000000% worth it

To my understanding from coming from communities to which have had Teamspeak. It's not only costly but also from what I have heard from other devs from those communities. TokoVOIP/SaltChat both have their own issues. Plus on top of that, I believe TokoVOIP's dev is no longer updating the code to which is required for TeamSpeak to work with fivem. But I could be wrong. @Jameslroll can correct me if I am incorrect and voice his own opinion on it.

This is a trial and error situation, when the problem is found, and able to be replicated (which I've had recordings of and have forwarded them), it will get fixed. I wish it was an instant fix :(

I have days where there are no problems I can log on have my first interaction and we can all hear each other. The next day I can log on walk up to my first interaction and I either can either hear people or talk to them but not both. I either have to reset my voice in GTA settings or take a nap. The bigger problem that seems to happen is when you have 10+ people around in the same RP scenario based on where it is. If I am in Los Santos near Leigon Square people seem to lose ears or voice out in Paleto during DPS Academy we had no problems at all.

I agree with the above. It is not working correctly. Its horrible in high person situations.

On restart I updated it a bit. Might resolve some issues, but the only one I could reproduce was the phone. Yet to find a reproduction with beta testers for the the cutting out, so still guessing.

Right now we're having some issues when moving in and out of buildings like warehouses. radio comms inside/outside is also kinda scuffy

I can attest that I was inside the Davis morgue today and my radio was not transmitting to everyone but I could hear them while on my medic.

I and many of my friends have experienced multiple times that people can’t hear each other on the radio. Like it will be working for a second then all of a sudden you can’t hear someone talking just there click…

Can confirm as of yesterday, phone issue was really really weird, could hear them "talking" but couldnt make out words. As well as this, the radio's were acting up even with 30 people on the server.
